Travel Bucket List
Since last week the Old Man asked me to repost and article on vacations, I decided we should put together a bucket list of vacation places of our own. The Old Man has been working pretty long hours and is ready for a nice long vacation. I know he is a burnt out because he is excited to have a week off to recover from back surgery. I think that is excitement is both getting to rest for a week and getting rid of his constant back and leg pain. But still it is a bit disconcerting how excited he is about that week. I also know that he has a pretty big trip planned for September that will hopefully help him reset completely.
I will let you guess whose list is whose, not sure it is all that hard, but I forgot to add a header line for the table so now you have to work for it because I was too lazy to correct my formatting mistake. As you can see there are a few places that overlap, which means those are most likely to get to done sooner than the others. Antarctica is my dream for my 55th birthday and just made the list when the Old Man took me to Ushuaia for my 45th birthday. Watching the cruisers come in and go out from Ushuaia made me so jealous. They had so much fun and the pictures were amazing. Plus who doesn’t want to say they crossed the Drake Passage, especially when the maternal side of your family claims to be descendants of Sir Francis Drake (the Old Man not me).
I will also add that this list of only places we have not been. There are a few places I would like to go back too, such as England (this time with a bit more money and wisdom), Alaska, and Hawaii. I didn’t ask the Old Man because his list is a bit longer on the go back side since he has traveled so much for work and wants to take me back to all the places he has been. This list is also just the top 10 or in reality the 10 we could think of when I asked the Old Man so I could write the article, I bet if you ask either of us now some would drop off and others would be added. For me Tel Avi comes to mind but I couldn’t imagine dropping any off my list to add it, so there is one of my alternatives.
Now that we have shared our travel bucket list, what is yours? Any suggestions on what alternates we should add to our list?
