Riskypsy Weekend Fun
Life has been pretty crazy around our house lately. The Old Man has traveled over 65,000 miles in the air for work. Needless to say it has left our weekends busy but in all the wrong ways.
This past weekend the Old Man was finally home and we had nothing booked which was a most glorious feeling. Our first thought was we would rent bikes and ride out to a local bar for some brews, but the weather was a bit eh and well to be honest we were a bit lazy.
Instead we got up early, thanks to Jayne, and decided to head to one of our favorite breakfast spots and figure out what type of day we were going to have. To be fair at breakfast is where the bike plan was shot down.
On the way home while we were dreaming of road trip to Big Bend next weekend the Old Man decided he was missing road trips and just taking roads to see where they go. So we took a road to see where it went. To our great surprise we found Oakland Cemetery which we took our time driving around, I do love a good Cemetery.
After our slow drive around the Cemetery we decided to head home and take the dogs for a long walk around the neighborhood. I have been walking the dogs a 1.5 route that the Old Man had yet to see, plus I like to harass Simon and make him walk by the dinosaur and felt the Old Man needed to see this. Yes I am a very mean dog parent, but Simon just begs to mocked sometimes.
After our walk we decided to stop at a pet friendly patio for buy one get one craffes of momimossa and enjoy the freakishly warm weather Dallas was having.
Moral of this short story. You may not always be able to hit the road and escape town, but you can always find an hour or so to take a road and see where it goes. You never know you may find some cool things you never knew (or forgot about) in your own hometown.
