Knowing that we were going to watch the Packer’s game at a bar we decided to use the last of the Old Man’s points to stay in a hotel so the dogs would be a bit more comfortable and so that our uber didn’t have to pick us up and drop us off in a Wal-Mart parking lot.
We headed to Finnigan’s listed as an official Packer’s bar. The bar was the united nations of the NFL, but the bar had a certificate that stated it was an official Packer’s bar and the Packer’s game got the audio and the biggest screen so the Old Man was happy. The Packers won and we headed back to the room to rest up for a busy week.
Running and I have had a bit of a on again off again love, but it does afford me the advantage of seeing towns early in the AM and those towns that we don’t really get to stay in and tour, I still get a little bit of glimpse. Burlington is a typical New England town and I enjoyed running through the University of Vermont. Nice I managed to run down to the waterfront, which of course was amazing. The run back up from the waterfront not so amazing, why do we always stay at the top of hills?
The Old Man had a coffee date and podcast to handle so the pups and I dropped him off at coffee and went to do some laundry. I hate laundry day but it usually leads to some good stories from some of my fellow laundry folks. Not today, today I was in the Colosseum of laundromats. It was a fight to the death to get washers and dryers who knew Monday morning was such a popular time to do your laundry.
After fighting the good laundry fight the pups and I parked across the street at the grocery store so I could load up on supplies and we could wait for the Old Man to meet up with us and start our drive to Maine.
Our original plan was to drive halfway to Bar Harbour sleep and then get up early and finish the drive in and get the Old Man to a co-working space in time for his meeting. Apparently since finishing early he decided we should go the whole way all six hours. To get from Burlington to Bar Harbour there is no fast way and most of the roads are two lane and winding. It was a really pretty drive, but after about four hours we were regretting going all the way.
We made it late, but we made it. All we could do was park, walk the dogs, and then crash. I really didn’t care I am so excited we are in Maine and are spending a good amount of time. Oh Maine how I love you!
Next up all the Maine!
